Sneak Preview


Today I've been drawing numerous bits in my sketchbook but they all I've drawn feels like it's not correct. I'm in one of them moods where I want to produce something amazing by my standards. Ultra Huge!


Earlier I was flicking through a copy of Creative Review from last April 2011 and stumbled across some works by Ryan McGinness for New York's ultra hip Standard Hotel. I was really impressed by these vinyl pieces he'd produced they are amazing. But part of me couldn't help; but think the shape of the woman, he drew needed to be different, why did he draw a robotic head. Why were the tits not bigger... so here is my alternative...

Pick Me Up


While it's sunny outside I'm busy drawing in my sketchbooks with a brew. I even drew up a Christmas based image earlier. I put the pen down there's months before that madness is upon us once more. How many folk have been to "Pick Me Up" at Somerset House in London the graphic art fair...

Tickle Machine


Looking out the window it looks like another promising day for the Sunshine. The masses will be basking in the sun, riding bikes and walking the dog and who can blame them. I've been up early doors done some drawing eaten my porridge and scanned the newspaper...

Olympics


Over the last week or so I've read a few articles on the newly designed Olympic kit designed by Stella McCartney, which has taken some heavy flak. I'm looking forward to seeing the cycling action this Summer can we top or equal what they achieved in Beijing, and will Usain Bolt be on form. The last few days have seen some stunning Sunshine over Donny...

Heads Up


I caught Dexter Fletcher on the telly this morning talking about his new film Wild Bill, which on seeing a couple of clips I now want to watch. Nice to see the lead character is a chap from Press Gang. On walking out I saw plenty of chaps on road bikes it's a really lovely day outside to be on the saddle enjoying the sunshine...

My High Street



Today i got my copy of High Street which has been republished. If I only had a an original copy that would be special. Fans of the fantastic works by Eric Ravilious can maybe workout that I took The Oyster shop and sat and thought if this shop existed today what would it be. A few years ago I updated that Oyster shop to a menswear shop in my visual language see the above. It's a limited edition print available at Hornseys in Ripon...

An Alphabet Of London


I must mention this book pictured above by the great Christopher Brown there's more than 200 images showing some great slices of London old and new. There is a healthy mix of buildings, monuments and icons which can be enjoyed by all ages with or without a brew for company. I got my copy today and have been flicking through it loads. If you like illustration if your an illustrator yourself you should own a copy, by eck if you love London, buy one without delay...

Signed & Numbered


Well today I've signed and numbered my latest limited edition screen print "All This Time" which is available from Hornseys the gallery in Ripon North Yorkshire. Looking out the window today, its been great to see the sun is shining over Doncaster once again. Folk are wandering around without a jackets scarfs and hats for a change. Reet this lad needs an afternoon brew...
