Gentleman Al
Once again I've been out of my creative space again to collect something. On my travels I went into a bookstore and nearly bought me a copy of Watchmen; Yep still not read it or seen the movie. But I did purchase a real gem that I had to own Gentleman Jim by the legend Raymond Briggs. Its the story of Jim a lavatory attendant who, dissatisfied with his station in life, devotes his time to envisioning a world beyond it. Get your hands on a copy of this book, kettle on.

Sir Alan Cycles
Blimey readers, I've just read Sir Alan Sugar owns a seven grand road bike which has helped him shed nearly 3 stone. He even dons the lycra for a twice weekly 50 mile blast through the Essex countryside on a limited edition Pinarello that Alejandro Valverde usually rides. I read also mr Robbie Williams owns a road bike there all at this cycling lark.

Manchester is Ace
I've added the blog Manchester is Ace to my mates section; enjoy reading about manchester readers on this great blog.
Windy Afternoon
This afternoon I got truly soaked and blown about in the wind outside on my bike. Breaking off for a brew was the highlight and never tasted so good. I was even told it was my turn to do some work up at the front cos I'd been in the cafe since 12. To be honest I was so cold and wet I didn't want to move. I did spot a kestrel on route which flew low past me clutching a dead rat.
Illustrated Type
This morning I've been reading the latest Varoom magazine about illustrated type. I've battled the wind and rain to get a newspaper, we are on the verge of British Summer time only its freezing cold. I hope to get out on my bike this weekend and battle the wind a bit more. Aswell as do some drawing, thinking and some reading.

Don't Mess

I've been reading an influential book, which has some illuminating text on Texas's imaginative efforts to reduce littering on its highways. many doing the littering were 18 -24 year old men they were not impressed with the idea of the bureaucratic elite wanting them to change their behavior. Public official's decided they needed a tough talking campaign to communicate to the unresponsive audience, the state enlisted the poplar Dallas Cowboy football players to take part in television ads collecting litter and crushing cans and growling "Don't mess with Texas". People in texas can buy many products tee's, mugs emblazoned with this slogan on; such is the success of this campaign. 95 percent of folk from Texas know this slogan and was voted America's favorite slogan.

It's Not Just About The Bike?
Men's Mag Arena

It has played its part in styling British men for 22 years and certainly played its part in introducing me to illustrators like Kam Tang and the late great Reggie Pedro among a host of others when, I was a young paper lad, which encouraged me to make images. But this pioneering monthly magazine is to close after suffering years of declining circulation. Arena magazine pioneered the modern men's magazine. The title grew out of the influential The Face and first appeared in 1986 [ back when I was swapping Mexico 86 footy stickers in the playground], designed by graphics guru Neville Brody, It was the brainchild of Nick Logan who created the Face, and wanted to give male readers a quarterly mix of fashion and style.
