Last night I attended the private view of Images 32 the best of British contemporary Illustration in 2008. Readers you can view the works on show from the 30th of July to the 27th of August at the LCC once known as the London college of printing. Just across from the Elephant and Castle tube station. Last night Quentin Blake was in attendance to dish out the awards, personally I'm gutted I forgot my copy of "The Twits" and "the BFG" for him to sign. David Downton was due to hand out the awards but was busy drawing Twiggy for some more bags for Sir Stuart Rose.
Ok readers Im back, I loved Paris. Watching the end of the Tour de france getting sunburnt was well worth it. Even if your not a cycle fan that final stage is worth a watch to take in the atmosphere of the crowds that turnout in Paris. You cannot appreciate from watching from the television how fast those lads shift on a bike. Well done Carlos Sastre. I consumed many a baguette with cheese and ham saw the lady behind a rugby scrum and bullett proof glass "The Mona Lisa". We spotted many well dressed Parisian gents with lank hair, fine suits, smoking cigarettes all carried of with panache. We also spotted some very beautiful women. Years back a very famous creative named Peter Saville told me he thought "fashion comes together in Paris". I think readers he may have been correct with that thought.

This friday I'm off with my mate phil to go watch the end of the Tour de france in Paris, will Cadel Evans, Frank Schleck, or Sastre win the yellow jersey. I'm sure to use my extensive GCSE french skills I got a "B" for my efforts years back. All I remember is "Bonjour" which should lead to some good conversation's in some cafe's over a juice or coffee. No worries I shall digest the culture of Paris and report back soon readers.

Check tomorrow's Guardian sports section for my illustration of Chris Evert and her hubby Greg all loved up. Whilst doodling this one Ive thought about taking up Golf when I hit 40 and grey at the temples maybe. And Im gonna dress like Sean Connery did in Goldfinger whilst on the golf course in that movie.
Following my two week period of belly ache which was diagnosed as campylobacter, a bacteria found in raw chicken for starters; coming into contact with cats and dogs that have suffered diarrhoea can be another source of the bacteria. Readers you don't want it?? I felt weak, couldn't leave the toilet and had terrible stomach cramps; that was after the episode of me being rushed to hospital. But I've done some reading and its proving to have a lasting effect on my digestive system, I've won Gold medals for my scoffing of food and not being a fussy eater I really have. But I now can't eat anything too fatty because it gives me instant diarrhoea. I've read this is the same issue when people have suffered with campylobacter. Be warned when you attend people's barbecue's for starters check that the chicken is cooked all the way through. Take note readers?

It's a brand new week and looking out the window today the sun is out, owt can happen. This friday I'm off to see Paris for the first time for the Tour de france. Todays picture sums up recent events for me I take it readers you have put your foot in it with family and friends. It's not good and usually you have to make the Tea and buy the biscuits to make up and patch things up.

Ok students now you have graduated and are keen to speak, seek advice from people in industry, gain work experience often unpaid [we have all done it] and ask questions I've been there myself. Please remember to be polite, please respect people in industry are real busy and might not be able to answer your questions straight away. Please remember when contacting people in industry; people do talk about the great work they have seen and are sent they really, really do. But don't ruin things for yourself by sending snotty emails cos they have not answered them 10 minutes after you have first contacted them. If someone in industry takes time out in there day to answer your 10 questions in detail. Its nice to thank them it really is. Im a nice chap my mum tells me even a lady once commented Im nice, paragraph five on my CV says Im nice But Im trying to be assertive in this rant take notice of it. Please, please just watch your attitude and be polite cos folk do talk on the telefunken and can also write emails.
PLEASE NOTE: this is reference to how students have contacted some of my mates and how rude and arrogant they have been?

Readers I've been to the Doctors even he said Im fighting fit Im back in the fight game. Im back to good health. Good job cos its quite stressful winning an appointment to see your local GP don't get me started on the state of daytime TV. It seemed good times back in the day when I was ill as a kid with a bottle of lucozade, a comic [the Beano] and episodes of Pebble mill on the BBC on the road to recovery. I dont want another bout of what Ive had to upset my stomach thats for sure.

Over the last few days I've caught some daytime TV episodes of On the Buses, The Professionals, vintage episodes of Heartbeat [ but not the one with Take Thats Gary Barlow ], Cagney and Lacey and more; all digested with belly ache and in between motions?. Today I caught an agony aunt on TV, talking about relationships about bloke's stringing women along. Chasing the wrong woman etc all the usual stuff you can read in a Red Top paper. But the agony aunt talked about living on "The crumb's of love" and about moving on. I quite like digestive biscuit crumbs from the plate with a brew.
Today readers Ive risen from my pit and Im saying with the confidence like the man from Delmonte used to exude in the ads "No to Belly Ache Today". Any way it rained all night but looking outdoors it looks sunny. Well done to Cavendish on yesterdays stage win of the Tour de france. All going well Im there to see the final leg of the Tour in Paris.

Over the weekend I won a ride in an ambulance to A&E, I've picked up a virus, sunday morning I'd done a bike ride by the end of it; I was going numb from my face down to my feet, faint, pins and needles, shaking then my breathing became a chore. All from a bout of diarrhoea, dehydrating and my sugers plunging. Currently I have what is technically known as "BELLY ACHE", it keeps many a Good Man Down be warned?
